First day on a new ad account, what to set before you spend.

Before a new ad account spends, set four things. Server events next to the pixel, a time zone you won't need to change, the verification each platform asks for, and a first budget the account can carry. They come below in the order you meet them, each with the platform's own rule beside it.

  2. Time zone checked

  4. First budget inside the limit

  6. Cap and balance checked for the night

1. Send events from your server as well as the pixel.

Meta and Snapchat both recommend sending conversions through their server API next to the pixel. When the same purchase arrives from both, it needs the same ID on both sides, so the platform can count it once.

  • On Snapchat, leave client_dedup_id out and the pixel makes up an ID your server can never match.

It's check 8 of Adtucon Certified, and we look at it in Events Manager with you. On TikTok, check 9 keeps an account under 6 pixels, a line from our own TikTok data.

2. Get the time zone right before the first campaign.

Meta opens new ad accounts on Pacific time by default, and tells you to check the zone before you create campaigns. It matters from the first day, since the reset of Meta's daily limit follows the account's clock, not yours.

Tell us the zone when you ask for the account, so it's right before anything runs. Changing it later means a new account on Meta and on Google. The new-country guide has the rest.

3. Start verification before spend asks for it.

TikTok asks for your business details as soon as you create the ad account. Later, when your spend passes the amount set for your market, verification becomes compulsory and comes with a deadline. It's done once per client company, not account by account.

Google can restrict some ads as soon as an account is picked for advertiser verification, and sometimes pauses the account until it's done. On Meta, business verification runs in Security Center.

On Snapchat the Public Profile comes first. Share it with our organization before launch, because ads don't start without one.

On Meta, Google and TikTok we help with verification at no charge.

4. Keep the first spend inside what the account can carry.

TikTok, day one
  • Check 10 keeps it under $2,000, a line drawn from our TikTok data and from no other platform's.

Meta gives most advertisers a daily limit based on how they've advertised and paid so far. A brand-new ad account, Page or business portfolio can make Meta readjust it, and once it's reached the ads wait for the reset.

Google often gives a new account a daily spending limit across all its campaigns. It overrides your campaign budgets, and Google says you can't ask for more.

Then let it learn. Meta says editing during the learning phase resets it, and TikTok lists pauses and edits among what keeps a campaign from leaving it.

5. The first review.

Every new ad is reviewed, and the landing it sends to is part of what gets read.

Preflight is our read before theirs. It's checks 4 and 5, and it costs nothing. For what each platform reviews and how to ask again, see how each platform reviews an ad.

6. The first night.

Before you log off on day one, check the room under each account's cap. On TikTok accounts from us the cap counts for the account's whole life, so it can run out at any hour, and a top up lifts it. On Meta the account spending limit is lifetime as well, and on accounts from us the top up is what raises it.

In the panel, the balance warning only starts after 3 days of spend, so the first nights are yours to watch. The Adtucon Platform comes with your accounts, and it is in early access with a first group of clients. It opens to all clients, on all platforms, in early 2027.
