What Outbrain takes, and what it saves for managed accounts.
Outbrain sorts its guidelines into prohibited and restricted categories, and keeps the right to reject or block content at its own discretion, even after launch. A few categories run only on managed accounts, once Outbrain's own team has verified them.

Outbrain charges your card in round amounts as the campaign spends. If a charge fails, Outbrain disables the account straight away.
Card billing takes MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express, from 45 countries only, and India, Turkey and Mexico aren't on the list. Card accounts also pay a 3% processing fee on top of spend, and Outbrain charges clients based in Brazil 4%. Prepayment by wire, ACH or SEPA exists, but you reach it through an account manager, or after Outbrain's Customer Success team checks your eligibility as a self-serve user.
So an agency account on Outbrain is for the buyer whose card is the weak point. You still run the ads, and Outbrain's billing sits with the provider whose account it is. How you'd pay us for it is a question for the chat. If you pay by card from a listed country and a declined charge wouldn't hurt your month, stay on your own Outbrain account.

Why did Outbrain charge more than my budget?
Clicks on ads served before the cap still count, so Outbrain says you can pay up to 20% over budget, and clicks can land even after you pause.
Can I use AI-generated creatives on Outbrain?
Yes, labelled as AI-generated where people first see them. AI can't be used to fake testimonials, user reviews or before and after images.
Can I run Outbrain through a DSP instead?
Outbrain sells both ways, directly in Amplify or through the DSP of your choice. This page is about the first.
