Microsoft Advertising agency accounts for search ads on Bing.
Microsoft Advertising is the platform behind the ads on Bing, and Microsoft spells out what an agency touches on your account, the ownership and the bill. This page starts there. We run it too, and you ask for the rate in chat.

Whose account is it, and who gets Microsoft's bill?
Microsoft lets an agency become a direct manager on your account, with every campaign task, while you keep access to view and edit. The bill-to customer, the party that pays Microsoft, can be the agency or you. Often it's the agency, which in Microsoft's words pays the costs and then bills you later.
- 1
You and the agency agree the terms outside Microsoft Advertising, often in a contract.
- 2
You give the agency your account number.
- 3
The agency sends a link request through Microsoft Advertising, and a Super Admin on your side has 30 days to accept it.
- 4
The agency starts managing, and you can still sign in and edit your campaigns.

Where the billing threshold of a new account billed in US dollars starts, in Microsoft's own example.
A new account pays as it goes, in small steps.
On postpay, Microsoft charges your card when spend reaches the threshold or on your monthly billing date, whichever comes first. The threshold climbs as payments go through and drops when they don't, and one declined card puts every account that uses it on hold.
Prepay runs the other way round. You fund the account first, money sent by bank transfer typically shows up 5 days after the transfer completes, and the account pauses when the funds run out. A postpay threshold account, for its part, only works once your advertiser identity is verified.

Monthly invoicing has an entry test.
Monthly invoicing is Microsoft's credit line. You run up charges, get an invoice and pay on your contract terms, usually 30 days and 60 in Japan. Before that comes a credit check, and these minimums.
- Registered businessAt least one year
- Microsoft Advertising accountActive and in good standing for at least one year
- Identity verificationAt least one account verified as Business, or Business & Individual
- Spend in the US and Canada$5,000 a month over the last 12 months
- Spend in Australia and Western Europe$3,000 a month, US dollar equivalent, over the last 12 months
- Spend elsewhere$2,000 a month over the last 12 months
- AnswerUp to two business days
If your business clears this test, invoicing in your own name needs no provider. If it doesn't yet, that's the gap an agency account fills, because the agency can be the bill-to customer.

Are Bing ads and Microsoft Advertising the same thing?
Microsoft Advertising is the platform, and Bing is one of the places its ads show. Search ads also appear on AOL, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia and other partner sites, and audience ads on MSN, Microsoft Edge and Outlook.com.
Will an agency account give me a higher limit?
Nobody can promise one in advance. Thresholds and credit lines are Microsoft's, set by its own rules, so ask what the account you'd get from us runs on before you pay.
Do I need advertiser identity verification?
When Microsoft asks for it. Most new accounts get 30 days, the review takes 3 to 5 business days, and an unverified account may stop showing ads in the European Economic Area. Some payment methods need it before ads serve anywhere.
Can affiliates get verified?
Yes. Registered affiliates who own their business and websites verify as a business, self-employed affiliates as individuals.
How long does Microsoft take to review an ad?
Most editorial reviews finish within 48 hours. The checks keep going after launch, so an ad or keyword that ran before can still be disapproved.
Can I run financial services ads to UK customers?
Only after Microsoft's UK Financial services verification, which asks for your FCA registration or an exemption. Until then those ads don't serve in the UK, and the step comes on top of identity verification.
Can I run gambling on Microsoft Advertising?
In June 2023 Microsoft wrote that gambling advertisers need a licence in every market they target, and approval through its gambling enablement process for those markets. Tell us the markets first.
Why would Microsoft put my account on hold?
Excessive chargebacks, a declined card, an unpaid invoice, or suspicious changes, which bring a hold of up to 30 days. While it lasts, none of the campaigns run.
Tell us your markets and who should pay Microsoft.
Microsoft's rules change with both, from identity checks in the European Economic Area to who receives the bill. Add the vertical and what you spend a month on Bing, and ask for the rate.
